Chimney Cleaning
Fireplaces, wood-burning stoves, gas or oil heating appliances all contribute to dirty chimneys. Burning wood produces a black, sticky combustible layer known as creosote that is highly combustible and requires regular cleaning to prevent possible chimney fires.
Depending on how often you use your wood stove or fireplace, an annual cleaning combined with a Level 1 visual inspection is recommended by Guardian Chimney to eliminate all your concerns, which gives you complete peace of mind.
The Basic Cleaning Process
Guardian Chimney technicians are experienced and arrive properly equipped for the job - and will bring any potential problems to your attention. Our techs first inspect your fireplace and heating system, the chimney or flue pipe, the chimney cap and fireplace damper and any other related components. If they see any potential problems, they will make recommendations for remediation.
After the inspection, technicians boot and cover the inside of the fireplace and use a state of the art vacuum system to contain soot or dust created during the cleaning process. They then continue the process from the roof and clean the inside of the chimney with poles, brushes and scrapers as soot and debris fall to the bottom. The tech then re-enters the house, removes the debris, cleans out the inside of the fireplace, and vacuums any remaining dust or soot and leaves your home spotless!
